The Time Traveler's Wife...

I got to see The Time Traveler's Wife the other day. Although beforehand, I must admit I wasn't really bent on watching it. Then Sweetie insisted I watch it with him and so I did.  I thought it was again another one of those movies involving a machine or a gadget that could make you travel back and forth into time. But I learned that this movie is not at all like that. It's about this girl, Claire, who loves this guy, Henry, who has a rare genetic disorder wherein he has this uncontrollable ability to travel through different time periods in his life. In fact, they first met each other when she was only 6 years old and he was maybe in his 20's during one of his travels through time.  That meeting started the very special bond between the two of them which will last for a long time. Eventually after many years, they met in the present time and fell in love and got married.  One time when he got back from his travel they won the lottery because he already knew  the winning numbers. Which made me think, that is one thing I would definitely do if I was a able to travel through time. Basically, the story revolved around their life together, Henry's capability to travel thorugh time and how they both tried to cope with its repurcussions and most importantly their great love for each other which transcends through time. The movie made me wonder what it would feel like to have a disorder such as what Henry has. It would be amazing to be able to travel through time and re-live some moments in my life, good or bad and I could see what the future is as well. But then it seems that this ability is a bit futile since I am not able to change anything at all. In a way, it may be a gift but at the same time it is also a curse. This movie has a lot of interesting and heart-warming scenes and I could say I really enjoyed it and I recommend it to someone who hasn't watched it yet. It's also nice to see with that special someone in your life. Thank you for sharing this movie with me Sweetie.
